Scottsboro Library Scavenger Hunt

The Scottsboro Boys Museum is partnering with the Scottsboro Public Library as part of the library’s summer programming to present a Fact Finding Scavenger Hunt at the museum. The scavenger hunt invites participants to explore the museum’s exhibits and engage with the history of the Scottsboro Boys case, and the broader civil rights context in Alabama.

  • Families are welcome but note that content will includes mature themes appropriate to the historical subject matter.

Scavenger Hunt Format:

  • Self-guided scavenger hunt with a printed or digital checklist of clues and questions tied to specific exhibits and artifacts.

  • Participants will move through the museum to locate items, read interpretive panels, and answer questions that encourage critical thinking about the exhibits.

  • Museum staff and volunteers will be available to provide context, assist with questions, and ensure respectful engagement with sensitive materials.

  • An optional guided introductory talk will be offered at scheduled times to orient participants to the museum’s mission and collections before they begin.

  • The top-scoring individual will receive a prize from the Scottsboro Boys Museum.
